This is a painting of Montmartre in Paris I am currently painting. It’s being painted on wood that I have scratched and nicked to give the painting a little more dimension. The art table I work on was my grandfather’s drafting table. Within the wooden table top I can see his handwriting, notes, numbers, different angles, all sort of nicks and dings from all the years of work he did at this table. Now that I have been using the table, it has acrylic paint splattered on top. I really enjoy this look, it shows all the years of hard work from my grandfather and now from myself. That is why I decided to ding and kick up this piece of wood.
